The first grave mistake potential home buyers make is that they only view a particular property one time. Even if you dislike a certain property for a number of reasons ... always view it twice.

Why? The answer is below and it's quite funny. It's also the #1 reason why too many potential home buyers lose out on the right house.

These are actual responses from potential home buyers after re-visiting different properties they disliked the first time around:

• I could have sworn the pool was sitting practically against the back of the house, leaving not much room to walk about. Now I realize the pool is nearly on the other side of the lot. How'd that happen? (The pool never moved. It had always been near the back of the lot.)
• I remember the kitchen being so much smaller than this. I didn't realize it was actually this open. (Nothing had been changed about the kitchen. On the second viewing of this property, the home buyer made an offer.)

The point? When scheduling an appointment to view a house, always schedule two appointments (the second appointment should be about three days after the first). Schedule appointments during the daytime (in case the electricity has already been shut off). And if you need to see the property two, three or four times more to be sure ... don't be afraid to ask for more appointments.
